At The Zen Life Center, we offer multiple disciplines in traditional martial arts to make a dynamic athlete. Our classes have elements of the following:
Jidokwon Taekwondo: one of the original nine schools of the modern Korean martial arts that became Taekwondo and was founded in South Korea. Jidokwan supports and endorses the Kukkiwon method of Taekwondo, and supports the World TaekwondoFederation (WTF).
Sin Moo Hapkido: a martial art that combines "hard" and "soft" techniques. From a purely technical perspective, it is very closely related to its parent art, Traditional Hapkido, though it places more emphasis on meditative, philosophical, and Ki development training.
San Soo Kung-Fu: a form of martial art based on five families of techniques: kicks and punches, leverages, throws and joint locks, pressure points, the psychology of fighting, and physical conditioning and power. The techniques of Kung Fu San Soo utilize principles from psychology, anatomy, kinesiology, and the laws of physics to train the mind and body for combat.
Traditional Weaponry: training in the proper and effective handling of traditional weapons such as the bo staff, nunchucks, the sai, tonfa, and swords.
